Flower Mound Public Library’s new Creation Lab opened Sept. 7.

The lab offers library patrons the chance to use various equipment, such as a sewing machine, a 3D printer, a drawing tablet, computers, a laminator, an embroidering machine and more. A laser cutter is expected to be available later this year, according to the library’s website.

Visitors to the lab must have a valid Flower Mound library card. Machines may be reserved in advance, but reservations are not required. Patrons must sign a use agreement and take safety training to be able to use some lab machines, according to the library. Users younger than 13 years old need an adult present to use the lab.

The lab is open from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays and noon-4 p.m. Saturdays. It will be closed Fridays and Sundays.

Open house tours of the lab are scheduled for 5-8 p.m. Sept. 16, 1:30-4:30 p.m. Oct. 30 and 5-7 p.m. Nov. 12. Tours are come and go. No registration is required.
