Partial lane closures for a three-phase project for Dallas Area Rapid Transit’s Silver Line will begin Sept. 25, according to a news release.

Coppell’s Fairway Drive and East Belt Line Road intersection will be the location of various lane closures that are expected to last into November.

What you need to know

The northbound travel lane along Fairway Drive will be closed from Sept. 25 through mid-October, per the news release. Southbound travel will remain unchanged during the first phase of the project.

The project has three phases in total, which will last until mid-November. The closures will allow construction crews to perform work on the railway tracks for the planned commuter train.


The overall cost for the DART Silver Line is over $2 billion with service expected to begin in late 2025 or by mid-2026.

What’s next?

Following the completion of the first phase, the southbound lane will be closed from mid-October until early November. The final phase will close off the entire roadway with traffic detoured around the work site between early and mid-November.
