Upcoming traffic changes are expected to impact Coppell drivers over the next few days.

What’s happening?
  • The intersection of Mockingbird Lane and East Belt Line Road will be closed to traffic June 8-13. The road closure is necessary so construction crews can raise and set the new track for Dallas Area Rapid Transit’s Silver Line.
  • Drivers are advised to avoid the area. Residents who live nearby should expect an increase in construction noise during the closure, according to the city.
The backstory
  • DART is constructing a Silver Line station in the Cypress Waters area. The 26-mile hybrid rail line will stretch from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport to Plano, spanning multiple counties. The project is anticipated to be completed in 2026.
  • Construction crews have been working on the DART Silver Line project in Coppell. Mockingbird Lane southbound closed in February so DART crews could perform work on the railroad crossing.
