“There really weren't a lot of [Asian-fusion] options around the Lakewood area, so when the owners decided to open there, they changed the name to Jia Asian Bistro [for that specific location],” Crawford said.
Jia Asian Bistro offers authentic Southern Chinese food based on recipes in the Szechwan region, according to its website. The new Lakewood location offers a similar menu to its Preston Road location. It serves an Asian fusion mix, including Chinese food, Thai food and sushi on its menu. Crawford said the area did not have many Thai restaurants to offer residents, and that prompted the owners to include it in their menu.
The new restaurant across from the Lakeview mall offers both a casual and formal dining experience. The main dining room offers space for 65 people total, excluding the patio.
