Lake Highlands woman opens beauty salon M Hair Lounge

M Hair Lounge, a new locally owned beauty salon, is now open in Lake Highlands.

Owner Mely Cipriano grew up in Lake Highlands and said she is excited to launch her own salon in the neighborhood she calls home. For the past 10 years, she has been living “the suite life,” offering her personal hair services out of a rented suite. M Hair Lounge opened at 8499 Greenville Ave., Ste. 102, in late February.

“It’s a big accomplishment for me to open my salon after being in a suite for 10 years,” Cipriano said.

Cipriano said she comes from a family of hairstylists and started styling hair herself when she was 16 years old. Two of her aunts own beauty salons in East Dallas, where she worked before launching her own business.

The stylist said she specializes in hair coloring and offers exclusively vegan, organic coloring options. M Hair Lounge also offers haircuts, waxes, facials, and keratin and gloss treatments. Cipriano said the salon offers “pretty much everything” other than nails, which she plans to offer in the future.

“I just want to focus on bringing more of a newer, fresher, inviting, relaxing lounge into the neighborhood,” Cipriano said.
