The Trinity River Authority, which manages wastewater treatment plants in North Texas, requested two Roanoke properties for a temporary construction easement for a lift station and new pipeline, according to city documents.

Roanoke City Council approved the $47,374 land acquisition at the Nov. 25 council meeting.

The details

The TRA requested 0.5 acres of property located on Roanoke Road to relocate and expand a lift, or water pump, station. The TRA will also replace a metering station and construct approximately 10,000 feet of pipeline to accommodate current and projected needs in the Cade Branch Interceptor System, according to city documents. The TRA will pay the city of Roanoke $46,114 for the temporary easement, per city documents.

The TRA will pay an additional $1,260 for a temporary construction easement located off SH 114, per city documents. The property is 0.04 acres and the TRA plans to construct approximately 12,000 feet of pipeline in the Denton Creek Interceptor Phase I System, which will provide wastewater collection services to the city of Justin and a previously unserved portion of the town of Northlake, according to the TRA’s fiscal year 2025-26 anticipated projects.

Both temporary construction easements will last for as long as construction occurs, Roanoke Director of Public Works Shawn Wilkinson said.
