Installation for new columns at Keller Pointe playground is scheduled to be completed in early October.

This comes after Keller City Council previously approved new shade structures for Keller Pointe playground during a June 15 council meeting.

Communication and Public Engagement Manager Rachel Reynolds said the park closed briefly for installation but will re-open again before custom canopies are delivered and installed.

The purchase and installation of the shade structure will cost $99,987 according to city documents, and will be paid from the Parks Capital Improvement Project Fund with funding adopted in the 2024-25 Keller Development Corporation budget. Reynolds said the full project is expected to be completed by mid-December.

Keller Pointe playground is located at The Parks at Town Center near the city’s multi-use recreation and conference facility, which offers a variety of services, programs and events for its members, employees, authorized visitors and the local community. The playground was installed in 2023 with some shade structures already, but the new structures will cover the whole playground, according to city documents.
