Tarrant County commissioners nominated three candidates to the Tarrant Appraisal District board during their regular meeting on Oct. 1.

Bill Hanna, public information officer for Tarrant County, said via email that the commissioners court nominated the following three individuals for the TAD board:
  • Lee Henderson
  • Sayeda Syed
  • Mattie Peterson Compton
A closer look

According to county documents, the terms of the five current members of the TAD board of directors will expire Dec. 31. Each voting entity within Tarrant County can nominate one candidate for each of the five board seats.

The TAD website states there are 73 voting entities in Tarrant County, which include:
  • The county (commissioners court)
  • Tarrant County College
  • Cities
  • School districts
The candidates were approved in a 3-2 vote by the commissioners court with County Judge Tim O’Hare and Precinct 4 Commissioner Manny Ramirez voting against the nominees.
