Keller ISD officials said a re-roofing project over Thanksgiving break led to some debris damaging the interior of Fossil Hill Middle School.

The details

According to a district statement, crews were able to repair the damage that took place, but Keller ISD’s facilities team wants to ensure that the cleanup is properly completed before students and staff occupy the building. Therefore, no classes will be held Dec. 2 through Dec. 4.

Fossil Hill parents and guardians should plan to keep their students home through Dec. 4, according to the district. KISD officials said parents of students involved in athletics, fine arts or other extracurricular activities should keep an eye out for additional communication from those program directors and coaches about any alternative plans for competitions or performances.

What's next?

District Building technicians are assessing the school Dec. 2 and district officials are planning for school to resume Dec. 5, according to the statement. At this time, district officials do not anticipate that these missed days will need to be made up.
