Following an unanimous vote at the March 20 meeting, Westlake Town Council announced that Wade Carroll will serve as the new town manager.

This announcement follows a nationwide search led by Mosaic Public Partners. According to a town press release, numerous applications were submitted with council narrowing it down to a handful of semifinalists. Each applicant for the position was evaluated based on their experience, accomplishments, abilities and knowledge of government management.

Carroll was formerly the town manager for the town of Trophy Club. He has been with Trophy Club since 2017 and also served as interim town manager, assistant town manager and fire chief, according to the press release.

Carroll has decades of municipal government experience. According to the press release, before his time in Trophy Club, Carroll was deputy chief of the Southlake Fire Department. He was with the city of Southlake for 18 years. He holds a bachelor of business administration degree from American Military University as well as several leadership certifications.

"We are excited to welcome Wade to the town of Westlake," said Mayor Sean Kilbride. "From the first time I met him, I knew he would be a good fit for us. He brings a wealth of municipal knowledge and experience and is a true professional who will lead our town in the right direction."

Carroll will begin his role as town manager later this spring.
