The city of Grapevine with help from various partners is in the process of a landscape enchantment project along SH 26 from Texan Trail to FM 2499.

Kathy Nelson, the capital improvement projects and planning manager with Grapevine Parks and Recreation, the 2.3-mile span of work will enhance the entertainment district, which encompasses Great Wolf Lodge, Gaylord Texan and Grapevine Mills.

The details

Work will include using native or adaptive trees, flowering shrubs, ornamental grasses, and planter pots. All told, 242 trees will be planted.

The cost of the project is $1.9 million with funding from the capital improvement plan, $700,000 from the Texas Department of Transportation’s Green Ribbon Program, $250,000 from the Governor Community Achievement Award and $150,000 from the city’s tree mitigation fund.


What's next

The project should be completed by the end of 2023, according to city officials.
