The contract is for $1.31 million plus $250,000 for potential unexpected costs, according to a memo as part of the Feb. 1 City Council meeting.
The city began bidding out the project in September and received five bids, the memo states. HQS Construction LLC was the lowest bidder.
The project will reconstruct 300 feet of Bluebonnet, 500 feet of Glade and 100 feet of Stafford Drive at the Glade and Bluebonnet intersection, according to the memo. Work also includes demolition of existing roadway, grading, concrete and asphalt paving, driveways, sidewalks, storm drainage, retaining walls, pavement markings, signage, fiber and water line improvements.
At its Sept. 21 meeting, City Council approved the fiscal year 2022-26 Capital Improvement Program, which included the Glade at Bluebonnet construction, according to the memo. The project is being funded through the city’s tax increment financing fund and a federally funded grant through the Texas Department of Transportation.
