The details
The church is currently using space at St. John Church Unleashed in Southlake to hold services and held its first service April 13, or Palm Sunday. The church meets at 4 p.m. on Saturdays and has youth services on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.
James and Bridgette Morris are the couple behind the new church, and James Morris said and they will lead with love and being a "church" no matter where they hold services.
“It has been a complete answer to prayer partnering with St. John by renting the building from them,” he said.
The backstory
Morris said that after leaving the family’s previous church, the couple prayed to see which direction to go next and if they should stay in the Dallas-Fort Worth market. Social media posts about the upcoming church was announced in February.
The family had a group of friends over starting in August for services in their house, but the group quickly outgrew the space, which led to searching for more room.
They looked for space to rent in nearby Roanoke and Westlake, but ultimately found a match in Southlake with Pastor Denny Davis at St. John. Two social events late last year helped the couple get an interest level from the area on people who may attend church.
Morris said the name of the church was inspired by the 40th chapter of Ezekiel.
