During the Nov. 4 Grapevine City Council meeting, a consent agenda item reflected an amount not to exceed $150,000 to allow for completion of the venue at 3800 Fairway Drive.
What’s happening
Work on the renovation of indoor and outdoor meeting venues at Grapevine Golf Course began in October 2024. The $4.72 million project, led by Fransen Pittman as the construction manager at-risk, was slated for completion this summer, according to previous reporting.
Increased construction material and labor costs, along with supply chain issues, have resulted in overages beyond the approved amount, according to city documents.
Elizabeth Schrack, the director of communications for the Grapevine Convention and Visitors Bureau, said a grand opening for the event center is slated for early 2026.
The details
The former pro shop building is being turned into an open-air pavilion, while the golf course concourse area is being renovated. According to the Grapevine Convention and Visitors Bureau website, the venue will host weddings, receptions, tournaments and meetings.
Fairway Hall is the name of the indoor setting and Byron Pavilion is the outdoor setting.
Also on the agenda
Council also approved a contract with The Dinosaur Company to bring back Prehistoric Park, the large-scale animatronic dinosaurs, in the spring of 2026.
This spring will mark the seventh year for the dinosaur display at Meadowmere Park, located on Grapevine Lake. The city will lease 15 dinosaurs, signing and scene enhancement for $50,000, according to city documents.
