Colleyville City Council members officially approved the resignation of Place 2 representative George Bond and voted on a replacement for him as well during the June 4 meeting.

Council voted to appoint Mark Alphonso, a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission, to Bond’s term, which expires in May 2025. With less than 12 months remaining on his term, the council followed the city charter and appointed a person to the vacancy. According to a presentation made at the meeting, the city had 30 days to fill the vacancy.

The background

Alphonso operates The Montclair Wedding & Event Venue in Colleyville. He is involved in the Colleyville Rotary Club and the Colleyville Chamber of Commerce, where he served as the board chairman in 2023.
