A two-day boil-water notice has been lifted for Southlake’s residents.

The details

A significant leak at the Florence Water Tower located on the city’s westside resulted in the emergency, according to a Nov. 4 news release. The boil-water notice went into effect and only applied to those in the affected area.

Residents were advised to boil water before consumption to ensure harmful bacteria and other microbes were destroyed. Free Champions Club guest passes were available for those affected, and the Southlake Tennis Center's showers were also available for use.

Going forward

While the boil-water notice is no longer in effect, residents are advised to:
  • Run all indoor and outdoor faucets for at least five minutes.
  • Dispose of ice and run at least one cycle through the ice maker.
  • Clean and sanitize appliances that use tap water, replace the water filter in those appliances, and run water softeners through the regeneration cycle.
Residents who live in the affected area and notice any water issues can direct questions or concerns to the city manager’s office at 817-748-8400 or by email at [email protected].
