Grapevine City Council approved the appropriation of more than $3 million to construct the first phase of Settlers Park.

The funding for the $3.3 million project approved during the Oct. 3 meeting will come from the city’s quality-of-life fund as well as a $500,000 grant from the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department.

The gist

Construction on the first phase of Settlers Park, which is across from the intersection of Bass Pro Drive and SH 26, is expected to begin in November. The initial phase will likely be completed around December 2024.

With the $500,000 reimbursement through the grant, the net cost to the city is $2.8 million. The first phase will include a multipurpose concrete trail, a soft-surface trail, a fishing pier, a boardwalk and picnic area, restrooms, a pavilion and lake overlook, parking, and park signage.
