Colleyville City Council approved a contract Jan. 19 for FM Utilities to make wastewater facilities upgrades on Apple Valley Drive, Rustic Trail, Bills Lane and Black Drive.

The project was estimated to cost $617,400 for water line installation and roadway repairs. FM Utilities submitted a bid for $424,644, which the council accepted from among the nine bids submitted.

According to the city’s 2021-25 Capital Improvement Program, approved in September 2020, the project will install a new water line to connect lines on Apple Valley Drive to lines on Bills Lane. It will also replace a water line on Black Drive. The new water line will provide redundancy in case of shutoffs. The project also includes road rehabilitation on Rustic Trail and Black Drive.

Funding for the project comes from the city’s Capital Utility Fund. Other water projects planned for fiscal year 2021 include water line and street upgrades on Pleasant Run Road and throughout the Pecan Park Estates neighborhood.
