Tommy Tamale rebranded as Atomic Tamales and Tacos in late April for all its locations, a company representative said.
The rebrand comes as the Grapevine location undergoes a complete remodel and adds a full bar and new menu items, a social media post states. Atomic Tamales also offers catering and delivery services.
The family-owned Tex-Mex restaurant offers a variety of tamales, bowls, nachos, quesadillas, burritos and other tamale-based dishes, according to its website.
Menu items include:
- Meat and vegetarian tamale plates
- The Tommy Bowl
- Atomic Tommy Pie
- Grilled burritos
- Various quesadillas
According to previous reporting, owner Steve Barker founded the business in 2010 by selling tamales from his truck in Decatur before bringing the concept to the Grapevine Farmers Market.
Barker and his wife, JoAnn, later opened a small storefront in Grapevine, helping grow the business into a local brand with locations in Grapevine and Coppell. The restaurant has remained family-operated, with several family members helping run the business over the years.
