Grapevine's July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza has been approved to come back for its 40th anniversary.

At an April 5 meeting, Grapevine City Council approved a professional service purchase for the fireworks display from Illumination Fireworks. The display will be funded by the convention and visitors bureau and will not exceed $55,000 according to city documents.

The display will be set off near the western edge of Oak Grove park at 9:30 p.m. on July 4 and will be most visible at a few different nearby parks, according to the bureau’s website.

Oak Grove Park itself, along with Lakeview, Katie's Woods and Rockledge parks, among others, will have space for parking to view the display for a $20 per car entry fee, according to the website.

Fireworks viewers can also listen along to a SoundCloud music track that will coordinate with the display, which the convention and visitors bureau recommends hitting play just before 9:30 p.m., according to the website.
