Partners Phillip Maxwell and Jake Copeland have launched a new business, leveraging the experience they gained in their previous roles. Field does tenant representation, landlord representation, investment sales, buyer representation, site selection and development, according to its website.
Zooming in
Maxwell said the company focuses on properties, such as land, office and medical, industrial, flex space, retail and restaurants in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and Austin.
“We’ve seen that there’s a gap in terms of suburban and secondary markets and commercial real estate brokerage,” Maxwell said. “We feel like we can bring a technological edge in terms of our systems or processes, the actual data that we're bringing our clients, that creates a lot of value for our clients.”
Maxwell said they look to grow their market in Northeast Tarrant County and throughout the North Texas region. Some of their current listings locally include spaces in Northlake, North Richland Hills, Keller and Denton.
The background
Copeland is a Southlake native and a graduate of Carroll High School, where he played football. Copeland played at Navarro Junior College and Baylor University.
Maxwell has been in the Dallas metro area for eight years, originally hailing from Shreveport, Louisiana. Like Copeland, he was also a college football player. He spent four years under Nick Saban at LSU and won a national championship during his playing days.
The details
The name of the company is derived from the word field and its different meanings.
Maxwell said the field goes back to a kid playing in a field, but also the playing field that the two got used to on the football field.
“The things you learn there are discipline, camaraderie, collaboration and a sense of team,” Maxwell said about sports. “And obviously, it's the field that you work in every day, and what we're doing on a day-to-day basis to provide for our families and to impact the communities that we're working in. It's about doing things with integrity, and if you do those things every day, on every call, with every client, it builds a foundation for a really great relationship. It also plants seeds for ways in which communities continue to grow.”
