North Texas drivers will soon have an opportunity to weigh in on a potential highway widening planned by the Texas Department of Transportation.

TxDOT officials will discuss widening US 380 from Teel Parkway and Championship Drive to Lakewood Drive in an in-person meeting from 6-8 p.m. on May 10 at Rock Hill High School, 16061 Coit Road.

Proposed work on nearly 6 miles on US 380 would involve the full reconstruction of the existing five-lane rural roadway in Denton County and six-lane urban roadway in Collin County to a six-lane divided highway, according to the TxDOT meeting announcement. Two- to three-lane continuous frontage roads would also be included in the project.

The roadway passes through the cities of Frisco, McKinney and Prosper.

Information related to the project will also be posted online May 10 and will be viewable through May 25.
