Every year the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department stocks an estimated 40 million fish in public lakes, ponds and bays throughout the state, according to the department’s website. Cast a line in any of these eight public bodies of water in Frisco.

1. Vial Lake

4. Northeast Community Park

5. Cottonwood Creek Greenbelt

6. Boyd Park

Opens 30 minutes before sunrise, closes at midnight

7. Teel Pond
