Gateway Church’s Frisco campus is in the middle of an expansion project that is expected to wrap up by 2022.

The first phase of the expansion began in April, and it adds a new sanctuary, children’s section and classrooms for the church’s spiritual growth program called Equip. These additions are slated to be completed by August 2022. The second phase—scheduled to end by December 2022—will consist of renovations to the existing campus.

The project was prompted by the “tremendous growth” of the Frisco campus, the church said in a news release. At weekend services, attendees find themselves in a standing-room-only situation, the release said.

“This is more than just a building,” Campus Pastor Kemtal Glasgow said in the release. “It’s a place for people from every nation to believe, become, belong and build.”

He added that the goal of the expansion is for Gateway Church to “become more than a building in the Frisco community.”

Gateway Church has multiple campuses across the nation with weekly attendance surpassing 100,000 people, the release said. The Frisco campus has services on Saturdays at 4 p.m. and Sundays at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
