Medical City Healthcare is conducting a national search for the next CEO of Medical City Frisco and Medical City Plano as current CEO Charles Gressle is being promoted within HCA Healthcare.

Gressle’s last day at the Frisco and Plano hospitals is May 31, said Janet St. James, assistant vice president of strategic communications for Medical City Healthcare.

Gressle is becoming the chief administrative officer for the East Florida division of HCA Healthcare, the parent company of Medical City Healthcare.

“It has been my honor and privilege to serve the North Texas community,” Gressle said in a statement. “Together, we have accomplished many important healthcare milestones that have reinforced our commitment to the care and improvement of human life. Medical City Plano and Medical City Frisco have exceptional leadership in place, and I am confident that these two hospitals will continue to grow to meet the healthcare needs of the many patients who entrust their care to us.”

Gressle has been Medical City Plano’s CEO since 2013. He also became Medical City Frisco’s CEO after HCA purchased the hospital in 2016.

He has also served as the chief operating officer at Medical City Dallas Hospital and Medical City Children’s Hospital and the senior vice president of strategy and business development for the HCA Continental Division in Denver.

Hopefully a new CEO will help that place. I just recently had a pretty terrible experience at the one in Plano. Their incompetence almost killed me. Thank God my FATHER was able to rescusitate me in their hallway. Where we sat for an hour and a half for no reason. I was supposed to have surgery but, they kept saying I had a balance when the fee was paid in full the day before. Meanwhile, I’m having seizures like crazy because the surgeon wouldn’t let me take my seizure meds for 24 hours. I said, you must not really want to do this surgery! I said, don’t be mad at me when you have to cancel the morning of, which is what ended up happening. They kept taking my father off to different places while I’m seizing by myself. I stopped breathing multiple times and thank God dad noticed from across the room that I wasn’t breathing and rushed over and gave me rescue breaths. You never leave someone that is actively seizing by themselves! How stupid are these people?! NOW they don’t want to give me my money back! I’ve already called a lawyer. I’m giving them the chance to do the right thing first. I was an O.R. nurse at one time, I know the ins and outs of a procedure so, I know that they did everything wrong, wrong, wrong. I’ve also reported them to the board. Beware of this place!
