Three candidates for Frisco City Council will appear on the May 7 ballot with one incumbent facing a challenger and the other running unopposed.

As of 5 p.m. Feb. 18, two candidates are running for Place 2 with Tammy Meinershagen's filing submitted on the final day.

Meinershagen, a Frisco resident of 18 years, is the chief creative officer at consulting services company MedinaUSA . She is also the chair of the Frisco Arts Foundation.

Meinershagen will face incumbent Council Member Shona Huffman. Huffman was first elected to City Council in June 2016 and is the director of community relations at Texas Health Hospital Frisco, according to the city website. She has been a Frisco resident since 2004.

Incumbent Bill Woodard will run uncontested. Woodard was also elected to City Council in June 2016 and is the chief credit officer at Titan Bank, the website stated. He has been a Frisco resident since 2005.


The last day to register to vote is April 7. Early voting begins April 25 and ends May 3. The election is May 7.
