Elyse Callison, marketing manager of Omni Hotels and Resorts, said this was the first time Omni Hotels and Resorts partnered with an owner of a restaurant concept.
“Nick is very well-known in Dallas,” Callison said. “Our goal was to market our restaurant to hotel guests as a local favorite.”
Since Neighborhood Services is in a hotel, the menu was expanded to include breakfast and lunch offerings. Executive Chef Marcus Strietzel and Chef de Cuisine Rachel Rechou collaborated to create the breakfast menu items.
“Our pancakes and waffles are super popular,” Rechou said.
Strietzel traces his proclivity for culinary arts to his childhood.
“My parents will tell you that instead of reading comic books, I was going through cookbooks,” he said.
As the general manager of Neighborhood Services, Gary Martin touted versatility as key to their success.
“We’re a bunch of different things to a bunch of different people,” Martin said. “If it’s a special dinner or a turn-and-burn breakfast, we’re always shifting on the fly.”
Omni Frisco Hotel is the official hotel of the Dallas Cowboys and tenants of The Star. The restaurant decor features Dallas Cowboys artifacts, such as the American flag that flew over Texas Stadium.
Gayla Guyse, general manager of Omni Frisco Hotel, said they want guests of Neighborhood Services to feel like they have left the hotel and are dining in a freestanding restaurant.
“It’s a departure from the hotel, which is marble, gold and sleek,” Guyse said. “This is a comfortable, traditional American restaurant that provides wonderful food. ... We’re approachable luxury.”
