Texas Revolution football to make move to Frisco from Allen

Another sports team may make Frisco its new home.

During the Frisco Economic Development Corp. regular meeting on Wednesday, the FEDC board approved a marketing agreement with Championship Sports Group, Inc., the majority owner of the Texas Revolution, an indoor arena football team based in Allen. The sports organization plans to relocate the team from the Allen Event Center to the Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco.

There are five professional sports teams headquartered in Frisco today: Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Stars, FC Dallas, Frisco RoughRiders and Texas Legends.

“This marketing agreement will be executed upon them signing their lease with Dr Pepper Arena and announcing that they are moving to Frisco,” FEDC director of marketing Darcy Schroer said during the meeting.

A formal announcement is expected to be made in August.
