Upcoming projects
1. Timber Valley Drive and Fairfield Lane reconstruction
Project: Both projects include the replacement of the street, sidewalks, sewer lines and water lines. The Timber Valley project will take place between Cross Timbers Road and River Oaks Drive. Fairfield Lane construction will occur between Timber Valley and Summer Trail.
Update: Town officials plan to send the project out to bid in February.

2. FM 407 widening projectProject: The road will be widened from two lanes to six lanes between Bill Cook Road and FM 1830. A shared-use path and sidewalk will also be included to accommodate bicyclists and pedestrians.
Update: The public hearing on the project scheduled for Jan. 29 was postponed due to Winter Storm Fern, and updated information will be provided once the meeting is rescheduled.

Ongoing projects3. Highland Village water line replacements, sewer installation
Project: Work crews are replacing water lines along several neighborhood streets in Highland Village. Through the project, about 6,800 feet of new water line and 600 feet of new storm sewer pipes, will be installed. The six streets affected by the project are: Cedar Drive, Edgewood Drive, Merriman Drive, Lakeland Drive and Gayle Lane.
Update: The contractor has completed installation of the water main on Merriman Drive and Gayle Lane, and has moved to install the sewer pipe on Gayle Lane and water line on Oak Street, according to a city news release from early February.

4. Sunset TrailProject: Work includes replacing the 48-inch water pipe under Sunset Trail, between Rocky Point and Ridgecrest Drive. Crews will also complete other drainage work in the area.
Update: A road closure along Sunset between Rocky Point and Ridgecrest is expected to end in mid-February.

5. FM 407 and I-35W intersection improvementsProject: Work includes adding right-turn lanes on the west side of FM 407 and I-35W to improve congestion. The project also includes adding drainage, vehicle deflection walls at the FM 407 and I-35W overpass and pavement markings.
Update: The Denton County Commissioners Court approved a construction contract with Ed Bell Construction Company during its regular meeting Jan. 30.
