Ongoing projects

1. FM 1171 concrete repairs

Project: The Texas Department of Transportation has begun full-depth concrete repairs along east and westbound FM 1171 from FM 2499 to I-35E.

Update: TxDOT will have shifting lane closures that will reduce traffic to one lane. Drivers should expect delays and seek alternate routes, Flower Mound town officials said in a news release.

2. Highland Shores Boulevard asphalt overlay


Project: The project includes an asphalt overlay and pedestrian crossing improvements from Highland Village Road to Briarhill Boulevard. An asphalt overlay is needed to maintain the roadway, increase its longevity and maintain good ride quality, according to project details.

Update: Crosswalk work is nearly complete, Public Works Director Scott Kriston said during a May 14 meeting. Crews began the asphalt overlay in May.

Upcoming projects

3. US 377 expansion

Project: The expansion of the Argyle portion of US 377 will stretch from Crawford Road to FM 1171.


Update: All utility relocations are expected to be completed by December. The project is scheduled to be ready to bid by late 2024 or early 2025.

4. FM 407 widening

Project: TxDOT crews are widening FM 407 lanes from Cleveland-Gibbs Road in Northlake east to Gateway Drive in Argyle.

Update: In collaboration with property owners, TxDOT officials are securing the necessary right of way to advance the project. Utility relocations are in progress, with TxDOT officials assessing the need for a traffic signal at Gateway Drive to enhance safety and efficiency during this expansion project.
