A new park located near the Flower Mound Public Library should be completed next month, according to a town news release.

The gist

Flower Mound officials anticipate the completion and opening of Peters Colony Memorial Park, located at 3201 Peters Colony Road, in April. A ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned for later this spring or in the early summer, per the news release.

Peters Colony Memorial Park will include pedestrian trails, nature-inspired playground equipment, native landscaping, a water feature and a pavilion. Flower Mound is also accepting online applications for legacy monuments and children's memorials meant to honor deceased residents.

Town officials also approved a veterans plaza after Chief Warrant Officer Douglas A. Brown last March.

Construction on the 3.3-acre park began in October 2024.

The $3.36 million park project was mostly funded through tax increment reinvestment zone proceeds, with further funding coming from a $750,000 grant from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
