New Year's Eve is approaching, which means midnight parties, food and champagne. As you prepare for the last evening of 2025, be aware of the firework laws within your community.

The details

Flower Mound does not allow fireworks and may result in fines of up to $2,000, according to a post from the fire department’s Facebook page.

Commercial firework displays require a permit, which can be obtained through the fire marshal’s office, per town documents.

Highland Village does not allow fireworks of any kind, including firecrackers, torpedos, skyrockets, roman candles, sparklers, or anything similar, per city documents.

Argyle does not permit fireworks, as well, according to its website.

Also of note

In Denton County, it is legal to discharge fireworks on your private property or on the private property of another with the owner’s permission in the unincorporated areas of Denton County, per the county’s website.

However, cities can regulate the use of fireworks within 5,000 feet of their city or town limits, which supersedes this law, so check in with local municipalities before using fireworks.
