A two-phase trail construction project within Flower Mound's Shadow Ridge Park is underway, according to a town news release.

Work began on the first phase of the project in November, per the news release, and it is expected to be completed in 60 to 90 days.

The overview

Improvements in the first phase include replacing the old sidewalk in the park with a new 8-foot trail. Other work includes:
  • Constructing new Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant ramps at intersections
  • Repairing several existing trail panels
  • Grading
The first phase starts at St. Francis Lane and ends at Lexington Crossing. A second phase of the project will lengthen the existing trail from Lexington Crossing to Shadow Ridge Middle School, which will connect to Flower Mound’s existing Bluebonnet Trail system.

One more thing

The project is funded through the 2025 bond, which voters approved in May. The cost for improvements for the Shadow Ridge Park project is $257,847, which council approved in October.
