Lewisville ISD campuses and facilities will remain closed though Tuesday, Jan. 27 due to weather conditions from Winter Storm Fern. All extracurricular activities and campus events scheduled Jan. 27 will be cancelled or rescheduled, according to the district's website.
Argyle ISD schools will also be closed Tuesday, and all after-school activities are cancelled. Previously scheduled basketball and soccer games will be rescheduled, according to AISD's website.

Schools in Argyle ISD and Lewisville ISD will be closed Monday, Jan. 26 because of inclement weather. District officials in both AISD and LISD will continue monitoring conditions, but no decision has been made on closures for Tuesday.

All Argyle ISD school activities and rentals have been cancelled for the weekend. Argyle and Lewisville ISD have not yet announced closures for Monday.

Local school districts are monitoring an arctic cold front expected to hit the Dallas-Fort Worth area with sleet Friday night.
What you need to know
Wintry precipitation, with the majority being sleet, is expected throughout Saturday and potentially into Sunday morning, per previous reporting. While precipitation is expected to stop by Sunday morning, conditions may not improve until Tuesday onward.

District facilities will also be closed after 5 p.m. Friday and during the weekend and all events at that time will be rescheduled, according to a district social media post. Samantha Fitspatrick, the district’s communications director, said district leaders will decide on closures no later than 5 a.m. and notify the community by 5:30 a.m. If there is no notification from district officials, school and school activities will resume as scheduled, according to LISD’s inclement weather policy.

AISD officials said some considerations before a weather-related school decision include road conditions and temperatures, the presence of snow, ice and sleet, student driver safety, sidewalk or parking lot conditions, the ability for staff outside the district to get to work, whether heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems are operating correctly and whether neighboring school districts are having school.
