“What interested us in the concept is it was healthy and affordable,” he said. “I looked at the operation, and compared to what I had done in the past, this was a very easy operation to maintain.”
There are multiple ways customers can experience meals at Clean Eatz. They can order items from the cafe, such as wrapz, burgerz, and smoothiez. Items, such as chicken parmesan, sweet chili chicken and pizza, can be selected from the grab-and-go section. Customers also can choose to preorder fresh meals, such as chicken and waffles for breakfast, a brisket enchilada bowl, and buffalo chicken mac and cheese.
“A lot of people think we bring those [preorder] meals in,” Mike said. “I prepare everything in house.”
In June, Mike and Tammy started delivering meals—which are $8.50 each, including tax and delivery—to the local senior community. To make the process as easy as possible, seniors choose the meals they would like delivered that week and simply call in their order. Seniors can call 469-451-5006 for meal delivery.
There are 30 senior meal options that rotate throughout the month, such as meatloaf, pot roast, chicken tortellini, white fish with lemon hollandaise sauce and more. Mike said he has been surprised by the emotional impact this program has had on him. “I have one lady who has prayed over me multiple times,” he said.
The couple said customers have multiple reasons for choosing Clean Eatz, such as weight loss goals, empty nesters who do not want to cook for only two people, fitness-focused folks who want to know the macro counts, young couples who were not taught how to cook and many more.
Tammy said her favorite aspect of owning this franchise is, “my customer interactions and seeing how this changed their lives.”
