1. Highland Pho & Grill serves Vietnamese cuisine in Highland Village
A new restaurant, Highland Pho & Grill, opened in early October, according to company staff.
The Vietnamese restaurant serves a selection of dishes, including vermicelli bowls, banh mi, pho noodle soup and fried rice. The menu also includes Vietnamese coffee, smoothies and teas.

A new Japanese fusion restaurant, Silver Sea Sushi, plans to open in Flower Mound.
The menu, which has yet to be finalized, is expected to include a selection of authentic Japanese food and drink along with fusion items, a restaurant representative said in an email.
Silver Sea Sushi is owned by the same chef, Pang Bamrungsin, who operates Bleu Bear Sushi in Bedford, a restaurant representative said. Bamrungsin previously worked for global Japanese-Peruvian fusion restaurant Nobu in Chicago.
The restaurant expects to have a soft opening later this year. It will be located in the same suite as the Alma Mexicana Restaurante, which closed last year.

Gracie Barra opened in Highland Village in early October, owner Gabriel Arges said.
The business offers Brazilian jiu-jitsu and self-defense classes for children and adults, according to its website.

Ace Handyman Services in Highland Village held its grand opening in late September, a company representative said.
The business offers flooring repair, furniture assembly, painting, bathroom remodeling, countertop installation and other home improvement services, according to its website.

A new Nordstrom Rack has opened its doors in Flower Mound within the Highlands of Flower Mound shopping center.
The business sells a selection of fashion items, including shoes, clothing and accessories for men, women and children. Products sold within Nordstrom Rack are marked down up to 70% and include items from the same brands carried in a Nordstrom department store.
A grand opening celebration for the new location was held Oct. 9.
Nordstrom Rack is located in the former Market by Macy’s location.
