A new dance studio will open soon in Argyle and is accepting registration for classes.

Pam Ray, Dallas West Dance Centre owner, said she and her staff have extensive experience in teaching ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, contemporary dance, musical theater, cheer/pop/drill and ballroom dance. Many of these classes will be available for adults, but the studio also will offer Pilates and dance fit for adults. Ray's classes will include options for people age 3 and up.

Ray said she has been involved in dance since she was a young child.

“I started when I was 6, and I haven’t stopped,” she said, adding that she was doing choreography and assisting when she was 13, and then started teaching when she was in college and has been doing it ever since.

Argyle is ready for a dance studio, Ray said, as the area is growing and family oriented. She said she finds people approaching her and saying they have to travel for dance instruction.Editor's note: The story has been updated to clarify the owner's experience and number of staff.
