Shane Williams is the incumbent Republican candidate running for Collin County Constable Precinct 1. His challenger is Libertarian candidate Mark Wester, who could not be reached for comment.

1. Why are you running for Collin County Constable Precinct 1?
I am running for re-election in order to build on the legacy of Constable Paul Elkins and to make a difference in the community.
2. What do you think is the biggest challenge for this position next year?
I think the biggest challenge this position will face next year will be to prepare for the tremendous growth we are now and will continue to experience.
3. What is your background in law enforcement?
I have a 17 total years in law enforcement to date, 14 years of those years were spent working for a constable's office. I am a graduate of Sam Houston State University's Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas Constable's Leadership College and I have also attended Texas A&M- Commerce as well as Grayson County Community College.
