The facility will manufacture MicaSense multispectral sensors and EagleNXT’s first-ever U.S. production line for the company’s eBee Vision drone.
“We're prepped for major growth, and we appreciate everybody's support for the new facility here in Allen,” EagleNXT CEO Bill Irby said.
The company began in 2010 when a farmer realized the potential for drone technology to enhance farm yields, Irby said. Today, EagleNXT manufactures drones, counter drones, drone sensors and drone software, and works with clients like the French military, the United Arab Emirates Security Forces and the U.S. Army, Irby said.
“The sensors that EagleNXT provides are highly capable and are sold globally,” EagleNXT Chairman Grant Begley said. “This is a U.S. site of an international company.”
The new facility will create various jobs, including technical and operational positions as well as marketing positions, Irby said.
