Year-round swim school Water Wings Swim School is slated to open off FM 529 in Cypress come Sept. 5, per a news release.
The details
The national swim school franchise was founded in 2003 and serves 20,000 students a year and, per the release, the new Cypress location is owned and operated by Arun and Kay Singh.
Open Monday from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m., according to the release, Water Wings offers differing programs and services intended to meet swimmers of varying ages and abilities needs, such as:
- Parent & Me classes
- Group and individual lessons
- Seasonal camps
- Competitive training
- Birthday parties and special events
Water Wings' class sizes average a four students to one instructor ratio, per the release.

The celebration
Water Wings Cypress plans to hold a grand opening celebration on Sept. 5 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. with facility tours, family-friendly activities, refreshments and giveaways, per the news release, and those who wish to attend the free event are encouraged to RSVP through the Water Wings Cypress Facebook Event Page.
