Home-based boutique film lab Trigger Analog Film Lab opened May 19 in Cypress, founder Tien Nguyen said.
What they offer
TAFL hand-processes customer's film and emails the high resolution scans back to them.
Pricing varies depending on the development type, but standard charges include:
- C-41 film development and scanning: $14
- Disposable camera development and scanning: $15
Until June 30, TAFL is offering grand opening special pricing on their website.
For $6 customers are able to receive their negatives back instantly; although TAFL stores clients negatives, and sends them back for free every five roles they send in.
What you need to know
Film photographers are able to ship or drop off their film once placing their order on the TAFL website. Nguyen said there is no public storefront, but clients will receive the secure, contactless drop-off box address automatically via email following order placement.
Per the website, they are focusing on 35mm C-41 film to ensure quality, but additional options are coming soon.
What's in the name
Nguyen said "Trigger" is meant to represent the mechanical joy of pressing a camera shutter.
