The Harris County Flood Control District warned residents in a Jan. 24 news release of the possibility for low-level flooding from continued storms in the area as well as upstream runoff.
The conditions
As storms have moved through the Greater Houston area, the HCFCD is requesting residents stay vigilant of potential flooding conditions and upstream runoff as another round of rain throughout the day is expected to keep water levels rising.
According to the release, the biggest areas of concern are:
- Upper Spring Creek to upstream of Hwy. 249
- Upper Cypress Creek upstream of Sharp Road
- Upper Little Cypress Creek along Becker Road
