Gary Elkins leads Democratic opponent Jesse Ybanez in political donations so far this election season, according to the latest round of campaign finance reports due to election officials Tuesday. This latest round of reports, the first mandated disclosure since this summer, covers all financials from July 1 to Sept. 29, according to the Texas Ethics Commission. Here is how much donation money each candidate has earned and spent for State House District 135 during that timeframe: Elkins: $48,760.44 contributions, $19,887.18 expenditures Ybanez: $3,890.20 contributions, $2,001.69 expenditures [caption id="attachment_192150" align="alignright" width="220"]Jesse Ybanez Jesse Ybanez[/caption] Candidates for the Texas House can receive unlimited contributions from individuals; candidate committees; political action committees, or PACs; and political parties. Here are the top three financial supporters for each campaign: Elkins 1. Texas Land Title Association PAC, $5,000 2. Texas Association of Realtors, $2,500 3. Texas Apartment Association, Koch PAC, Texas Manufactured Housing Association PAC, Blackridge, Texas Consumer Finance Association PAC and Associated General Contractors of Texas PAC contributed $2,000 each. Ybanez 1. ActBlue Texas PAC, $2,790.20, across several donations 2. James Vincelette and Cy-Fair Area Democratic Club contributed $200 each. 3. Mary Trenkle, Armondo Saenz and Filbert Ybanez contributed $100 each. The next campaign finance report deadline is Oct. 31, or eight days before the election.
