As of January, the Cy-Fair ISD service area is roughly 83 percent built out, according to demographers with Population and Survey Analysts.
Several single-family developers have plans to expand into that undeveloped land, including The Howard Hughes Corporation, Land Tejas and Johnson Development Corporation.
In May, Land Tejas purchased 320 acres west of Fry Road and north of West Road as an addition to the existing 600-acre Miramesa at Canyon Lakes West community. Homebuilders have not been announced yet, but Land Tejas officials said builders could begin constructing new homes in the area around mid-2019.
James Henrie, director of land acquisition for Land Tejas, said the expansion is meant to cater to growing demand for homes at the community. The new land could feature roughly 900 home sites at build-out.
