Cupcakes may be the go-to choice for many people desiring a fast and easy dessert. However, Marlene Farmer is putting a spin on cheesecake that has gotten the attention of Cypress residents.
It all started with a friend’s bridal shower several years ago. Farmer’s cheesecake creations stole the show, which prompted the bridesmaids in attendance to encourage her to start her own business. Farmer launched All the Crave Cheesecakes in July 2013, whipping up cheesecakes for weddings and events without a storefront.
By April 2014, Farmer was operating a storefront on Huffmeister Road in Cypress. In October of that year, she expanded to retail, selling cheesecakes in more than 30 flavors.
The cheesecake servings resemble cupcakes in appearance, weighing around 2-2.5 ounces depending on the toppings, Farmer said.
