The Cy-Fair ISD board of trustees are slated to receive a report on student performance data from the 2026 state assessment and accountability ratings, and to discuss board policy modifications during the Sept. 10 and 14 board meetings.

Per previous Community Impact reporting, CFISD maintained a ‘B’ A-F accountability rating from the Texas Education Agency for the 2025-26 school year. CFISD students in grades third through eighth outscored state averages in all but two exam subjects in the spring 2026 State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness exams, as previously reported by Community Impact.
Alongside receiving the report on the mentioned performance data, the board of trustees will consider approving board policy changes related to parents rights and responsibilities regarding student surveys, and will conduct a first reading of policy revisions related to class ranking.

The board of trustees unanimously accepted Superintendent Doug Killian’s 2025-26 evaluation, and decided to maintain his current employment contract and compensation during the Aug. 26 special-called meeting.
“I’m very glad we didn’t take any action on contract or compensation, because I would not accept it and also it’s not the appropriate time with all of our economic challenges that we have,” Killian said.
The trustees also approved authorizing Killian to execute memorandums of understanding with participating universities and colleges for the TEA student-teacher residency program in a 6-0 vote, with trustee Christine Kalmbach absent for the Aug. 26 vote.
