Jersey Village residents are restricted to watering their lawns to two days a week after the city downgraded its drought restrictions to Stage 1, according to an Aug. 31 press release.
According to the news release, Jersey Village has a mandatory 10% water reduction goal from the city of Houston—with which the city has a wholesale water purchase contract—and Jersey Village staff determined a Stage 1 drought would be sufficient to meet that goal.

According to the news release, under a Stage 2 drought, water use is limited to designated watering days between 7 p.m. and 9 a.m. for the following purposes:
Additionally, the use of water to maintain fountains or ponds that do not support aquatic life or to wash sidewalks, walkways or other hard-surface areas is prohibited.
