The Texas Department of Transportation is building a northbound frontage road on I-45 between FM 830 and FM 1097 in Willis, a project that was 19% completed as of a Jan. 1 update from TxDOT. The project was awarded to James Construction Group.
According to TxDOT, crews are building a three-lane northbound frontage road, which is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2023.
Further south on I-45, TxDOT is discussing possible future improvements to I-45 from Beltway 8 North to South Loop 336 in Conroe to alleviate traffic.
