Several projects in Montgomery County and the Conroe area are seeing progress according to a report from the Texas Department of Transportation dated for August.
The report provides several updates and status changes for highlighted projects in the area. This list is not comprehensive and details are subject to change.
Ongoing projects
I-45 direct connector
Project: A direct connector is being constructed from northbound I-45 to eastbound Hwy. 242. Drainage improvements are also planned along the northbound and southbound frontage roads from Shenandoah Park Drive to Hwy. 242.
Update: The project is 10% complete, according to TxDOT. This is a change from the previous month’s report, which listed the project at 25% complete.

Hwy. 105 widening
Project: Hwy. 105 East is being reconstructed and widened from two to four lanes between 10th Street and South Loop 336.
Update: The project is 60% complete, according to TxDOT. This is a change from last month’s report when the project was listed at 65% complete.

Hwy. 105 reconstruction
Project: Hwy. 105 East is being reconstructed and widened from two to four lanes between South Loop 336 and FM 1484.
Update: The project is 98% complete, according to TxDOT, showing progress was made since the last report.

South Loop 336 widening
Project: South Loop 336 is being widened from two to four lanes with a continuous left-turn lane between I-45 and Ladera Creek Trace.
Update: The project is 77% complete, according to TxDOT, which is a change from last month’s reported that listed the project at 80% complete.

- Cost: $20.57 million

FM 1097 widening
Project: FM 1097 is being widened from two to four lanes with a continuous left-turn lane between west of Blueberry Hills Road and Lake Conroe Hills Drive.
Update: The project is 95% complete, according to TxDOT.

FM 1097 at Atkins Creek
Project: Work at Atkins Creek includes a culvert replacement, concrete liner channel with baffles, added shoulders, milling and overlay.

FM 1097 improvements
Project: Work on FM 1097 from Hwy. 75 in Willis to the Walker County line includes culvert replacement, concrete liner channel with baffles, added shoulders, milling and overlay.
Update: The project is 90% complete, according to TxDOT, marking a significant change as last month’s report listed it at 55% complete.
