The Texas Department of Transportation will begin a project to expand FM 2854 between I-45 and Loop 336 in Conroe early this year to mitigate expected growth in traffic congestion along the roadway, which is expected to increase from about 13,000 cars per day in 2017 to a projected 22,300 per day in 2038. The $20.2 million project will reconstruct and widen the roadway from two to four lanes. Timeline: summer 2018-TBA
